Sullivan Tire Co. Inc. has officially opened its new 200,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution center in Taunton, Mass.
Located within the Myles Standish Industrial Park, the newly constructed 30-bay facility houses over 140,000 tires and employs more than 100 Sullivan Tire personnel who work within the call center and distribution, customer service, and purchasing departments.
The company says the distribution center features increased storage and material handling capabilities, as well as a state-of-the-art warehouse management system that will help sustain its growth plans.
“Taunton was a perfect fit for our new distribution center, and the city has been wonderful to work with in seeing the project through,” says Paul Sullivan, vice president of marketing for Sullivan Tire. “This facility will be instrumental in fueling our continued growth throughout the region.”
Sullivan says the new Taunton distribution center will allow it to consolidate existing warehouses in West Bridgewater and Brockton, Mass.
Taunton Mayor Thomas Hoye, Massachusetts State Senator Marc Pacheco and other city officials attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 28.
