Yokohama Tire Corp. has placed a fuel savings calculator on its Web site that will help commercial fleets save on gas and boost their bottom lines.
The calculator performs side-by-side comparisons of Yokohama's fuel-efficient truck tires against competitors' truck tires, say Yokohama officials.
"Savings are shown in three ways, which are annual fuel savings per truck, annual fuel savings per fleet, and annual gallons of fuel saved."
The calculator also shows "the total reduction of carbon footprint with the use of Yokohama tires," say officials. "Besides the purely monetary savings, there is also a 'green' benefit to the calculator. With fleets being more environmentally focused, it's important for them to see how the right choice of tires can dramatically reduce their carbon impact on the environment."
