Merger Will Help Trail Tire Grow

April 4, 2023

Two tire dealerships in Western Canada have announced their merger: Kirks Tire and Trail Tire.

Kirks Tire was founded in 1936 and is a third-generation owned company. Kirks Tire has 20 locations throughout Western Canada, in addition to three retread plants. The locations provide passenger and light truck tires and automotive service, in addition to commercial and industrial tires.

Trail Tire has 55 locations, as well as five distribution centers that support the Trail Tire Dealer Network that is spread across four Western provinces. Trail Tire is made up of a combination of corporate stores as well as associate locations.

The dealerships' merger will help "grow the Trail Tire retail and wholesale footprint in Western Canada."

In a press release Trail Tire says, "There is a longstanding mutual respect and friendship between the Trail and Kirks groups and this new partnership between them will allow the Trail Tire banner to be a dominant player throughout Western Canada in all market segments. This merger marks a pivotal point in the tire industry, and as we lever the strengths of both organizations as one collaborative team, we look forward to the synergies it will create and for the opportunities that it will bring to the Trail Dealer Network."
