Hamaton has unveiled an aftermarket Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensor, the U-Pro Hybrid BLE, exclusively for Tesla vehicles.
The new sensor is a direct replacement for the Sysgration BLE sensor.
An alert is sent to the vehicle's computer system via BLE when air pressure levels drop, triggering the TPMS light.
BLE sensors are found in Model 3 (2021 and up), Model S (2022 and up) and Model Y Teslas.
"According to Experian's registration data, some 113,882 Tesla vehicles were registered" during the first quarter of 2022, a 59% year-over-year increase, say Hamaton officials.
The U-Pro Hybrid BLE comes pre-programmed, "meaning technicians can install them on the Tesla models without programming. Furthermore, customers can choose between two metal clamp-in valves (black of graphite), both designed to complement the alloy wheel finish."
