Nokian's Plant in Tennessee Receives Environmental Honor

Nokian Tyres' production facility in Dayton, Tenn., has earned the Tennessee governor's Environment Stewardship Award for Excellence in Sustainable Performance award.

The award is "the highest sustainability honor a Tennessee organization can receive," according to Nokian officials.

"The Dayton factory earned recognition for being the first in the tire industry to earn LEED v4 Silver certification, as well, for its solar power, energy efficiency and low waste and emissions."

The plant opened in 2019.
