BendPak Inc. has updated its Dannmar brand tire changers, DT-50 and DT-50A, to include a swing-arm design and steel clamps to handle 12-inch to 16-inch wheels.
According to BendPak officials, the DT-50A adds a power-assist tower for stiff sidewalls, plus both tire changers have rigid hexagonal vertical shafts and hardened-steel horizontal outrigger support arms to eliminate the flex during tire service and reduce the risk of damage to alloy wheels.
The bead breaker blade has received a rubber bump-stop to ensure a smooth arm return, reducing shock loading, and the stainless steel and aluminum pneumatic cylinders have received internal end-of-stroke cushions that protect the seals, wear band and piston rod.
