Chapel Hill Tire has acquired a Durham Tire store in Durham, N.C. This location is Chapel Hill’s second in the Durham area.
It gives Chapel Hill Tire 11 total locations.
The acquisition was finalized on May 10 and the new location is 4,140 square feet with six service bays, according to Marc Pons, president of Chapel Hill. (Durham Tire still owns and operates another store in Durham.)
“For the past 50 years, we have had the pleasure of providing exceptional auto service to our loyal customers,” says Larry Powell, president of Durham Tire.
“Today, it is with mixed emotions that we announce our retirement and the change of ownership of Durham Tire to Chapel Hill. As a small, family-owned business with a long history in the area, we take great pride in having served our community with dedication and integrity.”
Pons says Chapel Hill is keeping all six employees at Durham Tire on board.
“We believe we have something really special to offer our customers and we’re really proud of the culture we have here,” says Pons.
“We go the extra mile for our employees, so they can go the extra mile for our customers. And we saw those same sorts of values in Durham Tire, so we think their team will be a natural fit for the Chapel Hill Tire family.”
