Tire Discounters' Georgia Footprint Grows

May 22, 2023

Tire Discounters Inc. has added to its list of Georgia locations with the purchase of The Tire Barn in Gainesville. Two generations of the Roper family have owned The Tire Barn since it opened in 1971.

The acquisition gives Tire Discounters 22 locations in Georgia.

“The Atlanta metro area is important for us as we continue to grow our business, in part to the growing number of vehicles on the road each year,” says Jamie Ward, president and CEO of Tire Discounters. “The Tire Barn and the Roper family are a staple of the Gainesville community and we will continue their focus on earning the community’s business and trust. Both of our family-owned companies share a commitment to excellent customer service.”

The Tire Barn joins a network of other independent businesses in Georgia and the greater Atlanta metro that Tire Discounters has acquired in the last two years, including Bulldog Tire, Porterfield Tire and North Georgia Tire. The company also acquired an auto glass company, Lightning Auto Glass, in Chamblee, which has since been rebranded Chip's Auto Glass.

Tire Discounters employs more than 2,000 people in nearly 200 locations in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina and Virginia.
