Sun Auto Tire & Service Inc. has opened a new Ramona Tire & Service Center store in California and has acquired another tire dealership.
The new Ramona Tire store is located in Murrieta, Calif., and is the 18th location in the Ramona Tire chain, which Sun Auto Tire acquired more than five years ago.
The eight-bay store spans 5,000 square feet and offers a full menu of auto repair services, including digital vehicle inspections.
“We're excited to provide a new, modern facility to serve the Murrieta area,” says Chris Wyborny, Sun Auto Tire senior regional vice president, who has been with Ramona Tire since 1992.
Sun Auto Tire, which is based in Mesa, Ariz., also has acquired three Cecil & Sons Discount Tires locations in the Tulsa, Okla., market. Founded by Cecil Cox in 1973, the family-owned dealership was run by Brian and Troy Cox, Cecil’s sons.
“When it came to selling the business that our father built over 50 years ago, Sun Auto Tire & Service made perfect sense as a partner,” says Brian.
With the opening of the new Ramona Tire location and acquisition of Cecil & Sons Discount Tire, Sun Auto Tire now has 478 locations throughout the United States.
It is one of the five largest tire dealerships in the country, according to the recently published 2024 MTD 100, available in the July edition of MTD.
