Grismer Tire Nears 30 Locations

Aug. 12, 2024

The recent opening of a new location in Mason, Ohio, gives Dayton, Ohio-based Grismer Tire 28 retail stores.

The new store - located some 20 miles north of Cincinnati - spans nearly 7,000 square feet and has 12 service bays, including one that has been designed for hybrid and electric vehicle (EV) service.

The Mason location is "identical in footprint and interior design" to the retail store that Grismer Tire opened in Lewis Center, Ohio, five months ago, Matt McCormick, a Grismer Tire partner, recently told MTD.

Commenting on the stores' EV service bays, McCormick noted that while Grismer Tire, as a whole, is not seeing a large number of EVs and hybrids at its locations, "we have to prepare for the future.

"I think hybrids are going to take off a little quicker than EVs, for the time being - at least in the Midwest. But I think we'll inevitably" service more EVs.

EV-specific bays inside the Mason and Lewis Center outlets have "wider footprints, so you theoretically could drop a battery out of an EV," he noted.

McCormick also told MTD that the bays "are fantastic for trucks with wider wheel bases and (for) heavy vehicles."

Both bays are equipped with lifts than can hoist up to 12,000 pounds.

In addition to 28 retail stores, Grismer Tire has a commercial tire location, which also houses the company's medium truck tire retread plant.

John Marshall, the dealership's executive vice president (retail), was MTD’s Tire Dealer of the Year Award recipient in 2003.

Grismer Tire is one of the largest tire dealerships in the United States, according to the recently published 2024 MTD 100.
