American Kenda Rubber Co. Ltd. is spotlighting two new tires, including one for electric vehicles, at the 2024 SEMA Show.
The Vezda UHP A/S2 is a new, ultra-high performance tire that will be available in nearly 40 sizes, fitting wheels ranging from 17 inches to 21 inches in diameter.
According to Kenda officials, the M+S-rated tire features sipes for optimal snow traction and handling; four main grooves that channel water and provide enhanced wet handling and hydroplaning resistance; a computer-optimized pitch sequence; a computer-generated footprint shape; an innovative tread compound that has been “specially formulated for enhanced handling and powerful braking;” and more.
“The UHP A/S 2 delivers the ideal blend of performance and comfort – ensuring a superior driving experience in any weather.”
It has a 50,000-mile warranty.
Also new from Kenda is the Vezda UHP A/S2-EV ultra-high performance tire for EV applications.
The tire, which comes with a 30,000-mile warranty, “combines the performance benefits of the Vezda UHP A/S2 with the needs of today’s most popular EVs,” say Kenda officials. “This tire combined balanced traction in wet, dry and light snow conditions with dynamic handling and a quiet, comfortable ride.”
Its low rolling resistance tread compound and integrated acoustic foam “significantly reduce noise, while deep sipes enhance traction in challenging weather.”
The Vezda UHP A/S2-EV will come in one 18-inch size, three 19-inch sizes and two 20-inch sizes.
Both tires will be available in early-summer 2025.
