Continental Tire the Americas LLC says General brand tires — both passenger and light truck products — now feature a new warranty and protection package, the Shield+ Advantage plan.
The plan provides "a comprehensive package of multiple warranties and coverage," the tiremaker says. It applies to all replacement tires with DOT serial numbers purchased in the U.S. and Canada.
Here are the primary features of the Shield+ Advantage plan:
- Limited Warranty: The limited warranty is for up to 72 months from the date of purchase. There are restrictions, but it allows for free replacement within the first 12 months.
- Customer Satisfaction Trial: The trial is for up to 45 days.
- Mileage Warranty: Coverage on select replacement products up to 75,000 miles.
- Road Hazard Coverage: The road hazard polizy offers a comparable replacement tire(s) within the first 12 months of purchase.
