Tire Discounters Inc. recently created a state of "pie-demonium" at Henry's Bakery & Deli, a business in Sandy Springs, Ga., by giving away 250 apple pies.
The Cincinnati, Ohio-based dealership recently opened a new store in Chamblee, Ga., which is part of the greater Atlanta metropolitan area.
"We're a fun-loving company that likes to do things differently," says Tire Discounters President and CEO Jamie Ward.
"Since it's common for families to welcome new neighbors with a pie, we thought we'd flip the script and give away pies as a way of saying, 'Thanks for having us, Atlanta. We're so glad to be here!'"
Tire Discounters' new store in Chamblee "is a major step" in the company's plan to open 25 stores across the state of Georgia - with a specific focus on the Atlanta area - by the end of 2022.
The dealership has integrated several tire dealerships in the Atlanta area over the last two years, including North Georgia Tire, plus Bulldog Tire and Porterfield Tire.
It also plans to add a 75,000-square-foot distribution center and training facility in the Atlanta region.
Tire Discounters' founder, Chip Wood, was MTD's Tire Dealer of the Year Award winner in 2020. The chain is one of the 10 largest independent tire dealerships in the United States, according to the 2021 MTD 100.
