Nokian’s U.S. Plant Sets Record

Nov. 14, 2024

Nokian Tyres’ consumer tire plant in Dayton, Tenn., set a monthly production record for the facility last month.

“The milestone comes as the company finishes infrastructure upgrades, optimizes efficiency and has hired workers at the facility, where it produces all-season and all-weather tires for drivers in the United States and Canada,” say Nokian officials.

“Since opening in 2019, our team has remained committed to steadily expanding our output and helping our colleagues grow,” said Nokian Tyres Dayton Factory Operations Director David Korda. “It is rewarding to reach new heights in our growth journey. At the same time, we are adding jobs and becoming more efficient than ever.”

The recently set production record “reflects rigorous training and equipment upgrades aimed at increasing daily yield, while maintaining high-quality standards,” according to Nokian officials. “The team in Dayton stands at approximately 500 team members in recent months as the company hired employees to staff the new finished goods warehouse it opened this summer.

“An automated gantry system came online in recent weeks to deliver tires from the production building to the warehouse.”

Nokian ships tires from its distribution center in Dayton to the company’s network of nine warehouses throughout North America.
