Michelin’s Garcin Returns to France

Alexis Garcin, former president and CEO of Michelin North America Inc., has started a new position with parent company Michelin Group. 

Garcin is the new executive vice president of Michelin Group, overseeing the company’s aircraft, mining, motorsports and “Beyond Road” business units, according to a Michelin spokesperson. 

Matthew Cabe replaced Garcin as president and CEO of Michelin North America on Oct. 1. 

"Across his 19-year tenure with Michelin, (Cabe) has held various leadership roles in engineering, manufacturing, marketing and other commercial functions in North America and at the global level," according to Michelin officials. 

Garcin was promoted to the top position at Michelin North America in 2019.

'We recognize that many tires are imported and that tariffs will undoubtedly affect the (tire) industry,' said Roy Littlefield IV, the Tire Industry Association's vice president of government affairs. 'However, the extent and specifics of that impact cannot be determined at this time. TIA will continue to monitor the situation closely.'
