Continental Tire is providing contingency for the 2009 Super Lap Battle Series, a time trial-based showcase of the fastest cars from U.S. Japanese and European tuners. As a sponsor of Super Lap Battle, Continental Tires will focus on the street class with its ContiSportContact 2 and 3 ultra-high performance tires; later this spring the new Continental Extreme DW also will be available.
The award for qualifying and regional events will be $500 for first place; $300 for second place; and $200 for third place for both series. During the finals, Continental will award $1,500 for first place; $1,000 for second place and $600 for third place.
“The Super Lap battle is the perfect series to show off the ultra-high performance of our ContiSportContact and our new ExtremeContact line of tires,” said Bob Liu, technical product manager, Continental Tire. “These tires deliver remarkable handling and outstanding performance at high speeds, and will be a perfect fit for the Street Class competitors in this series.”
