One of the fastest tracks in the American Le Mans Series, the 4.048-mile Road America circuit will put the emphasis on engine efficiency, aerodynamics and rolling resistance as the Michelin Green X Challenge makes its debut at one of America’s most legendary circuits August 15-16.
With elevation changes, high speed and mid-speed corners and a pair of long straightaways, the longest track of the ALMS season will create new challenges for Prototype and GT category competitors in America’s premier ”Green Racing” competition.
“Aerodynamic efficiencies and engine technologies like direct injection or hybrid systems will likely be big factors at Road America, as will the rolling resistance and efficiency of tires,” said Karl Koenigstein, Michelin ALMS technical team leader.
