Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. recently debuted its Hercules Terra Trac HTS at the 2013 SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show in Las Vegas. The mid-range, SUV/light truck touring tire is designed to deliver the traction, wear-resistance and ride comfort that consumers demand for highway driving.
“The Terra Trac HTS gives dealers an exceptional value to offer consumers who are seeking a mid-range, highway tire for their SUV or pick-up," says Vice President of Marketing Joshua Simpson. "This is a tire that delivers all-around performance on paved roads -- excellent traction, even wear and a comfortable ride.”
Laterally connected, full-depth wave siping leads the list of the intelligent design features of the Terra Trac HTS. The full-depth sipes ensure reliable, all-season traction and cosmetic appeal for the life of the tire; the uninterrupted wave pattern supports water evacuation, reduces noise and inhibits irregular wear.
The tread design also features a notched and siped solid center rib for highly responsive steering and maneuverability in all-season conditions, as well as four wide circumferential channel grooves that maximize water evacuation. The tire’s optimized pitch design creates a more comfortable sound structure for a quieter ride.
The Terra Trac HTS is built with a closed inner shoulder and low-angle shoulder grooves to reduce noise, maximize stability, resist irregular wear and deliver excellent handling at highway speeds.
Hercules backs the new tire with a 50,000-mile limited tread wear warranty for the SUV sizes and a 45,000-mile warranty for the LT and flotation sizes. The Terra Trac HTS is also covered by Hercules’ toad hazard protection warranty.
Seven of the LT SKUs are available. The remaining 19 SUV and LT sizes will be available in the first quarter of 2014. Sizes range from 15 inches to 17 inches.
