CLP Motorsports, the Bay Area’s premier performance shop, has traveled across the USA in a Superlite SLC racecar on one tank of NEXBTL Renewable Diesel… reaching their goal two days ahead of schedule. A feat, to our knowledge, that has never been done before.
CLP Motorsports joined forces with Neste, the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel, and invited four-time X Games gold medal winner, three-time U.S. Rallycross champion and two-time Formula Drift champion, Tanner Foust, to complete the drive from the Atlantic Coast of Florida to the Pacific Coast of California.
The team left Jacksonville, FL, on Sunday, June 21, and reached the California coast on Wednesday, June 24. The team is currently getting ready to let Tanner Foust take the driver’s seat of custom-built Superlite SLC across the finish line in Santa Monica, CA, at 11 am on June 26. The finish line and grand finale party will be held at Loews Santa Monica Hotel in Santa Monica, CA.
Fans will get a chance to see Tanner, when he meets up with the CLP team at Volkswagen Santa Monica, in Santa Monica, CA, to talk about the trip. The Superlite SLC will be on display from 9-10 am, before heading out to race for the finish line.
The CLP Team and Tanner Foust will be on hand to answer questions about this epic journey and the use of the remarkable NEXBTL Renewable Diesel.
The car utilized Neste’s NEXBTL renewable diesel, a premium low-carbon fuel made out of 100% renewable and sustainable raw materials. It is a clean and powerful renewable diesel, reducing emissions while increasing the car’s performance. NEXBTL renewable diesel meets the petroleum diesel specification (ASTM D975) for use in all diesel engines.
The team will also be showing off the Superlite SLC racecar at this weekend’s NASCAR Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway on June 27-28, at the Simraceway Audi Forum.
CLP Motorsports would like to extend an open invitation to meet us at Santa Monica VW or at the Across the USA grand finale on Friday or join us this weekend at NASCAR. Stop by and congratulate the team on their successful trip!
