Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. plans to introduce a new ultra-high performance line in 2004.
The line will focus on two segments, says Steve Buck, Hercules general manager and vice president of its tire division:
1. H-rated, "more or less for the tuner market;"
2. V- and Z-rated, "probably up to 20 inches.
"We're also looking at a new SUV performance tire line."
Hercules is the third largest private brand tire marketer in the United States with 2.5% share of the replacement passenger tire market, according to Modern Tire Dealer research.
