Greg Biffle took his Roush Yates powered FR9 to Victory Lane for the first time on Sunday at Pocono International Raceway. With 20 laps to go in the action packed race, Biffle used his new Ford engine to pull out to the biggest lead of the race and go on to win the Sonoco Red Cross Pennsylvania 500. Other Ford drivers showcasing the FR9 this weekend with great finishes were Carl Edwards, Paul Menard, and David Ragan who finished 3rd, 13th, and 14th respectively.
An emotional Biffle contributed the win to his team's continuous hard work throughout the season and the superior performance of his new FR9 engine.
"Greg Erwin and those guys just never gave up. This 3M Ford Fusion, it was mostly engine. This engine ran so good" said Biffle. "This win is for Jack. We know he's watching and we're thinking about him. We've been really tough and answered all the questions about the Ford and there it is. Ford is running really good."
Car owner Jack Roush, who was involved in a plane crash earlier this week, watched his driver win from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. Roush is in stable condition and was proud to see his team get their first win of the season.
"This win couldn't have happened without the support of Ford and all the technical assistance they provide. And (engine builder) Doug Yates and his collaboration with Ford on the new FR9 engine can't be overstated" said Roush after Sunday's win. "They've done a wonderful job and this is just the beginning of the rewards that have resulted from all their hard work."
Kasey Kahne won the Gatorade Duels in Daytona earlier this year with the new engine but Pocono is the first points paying win for the FR9, the latest Ford race engine built by Roush Yates Engines. Doug Yates, CEO of Roush Yates Engines, couldn't be more thrilled with its success.

"Everyone at the shop worked really hard to get all the parts to the track and the 16 team did a great job turning the car around from Indianapolis. Roush Yates experienced success on the dirt tracks as well this weekend. Scott Bloomquist, defending Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Champion, won at Utica-Rome Speedway on Saturday night. Rick Eckert used a backup car and overcame a radiator issue to win at Attica Raceway Park while Kevin Sitton grabbed his first victory of the season in the SUPR race at Baton Roush Raceway.
