Yokohama Tire Corp.'s Salem, Va., plant recently produced its one millionth tire, a Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015.
The first Yokohama-branded tire the plant produced was in 1990.
"Yokohama has grown dramatically here in the U.S.," says Jeff Barna, president of Yokohama Corporation of North America. "Such a feat would not have been possible without the local production from Salem, Virginia.”
The plant builds passenger and light truck tires, including Yokohama's Geolandar and Avid lines.
It has the capacity to produce more than 26,000 tires per day, according to MTD's 2023 Facts Issue.
