Pirelli & Cie SpA says it "stands beside" the United Nations Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) and the group's "commitment to road safety at the global level."
Pirelli has been a member and supporter of the fund since 2018, donating $800,000 to it over the years.
Pirelli Vice Chairman and CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera says the tire manufacturer "has been a supporter and donor of the UNRSF since its foundation and was among the first companies of the automotive sector to join.
"Our focus is to constantly improve the safety of our tires through technological innovation and belonging to the fund allows us to support global initiatives in areas from infrastructure to urban planning and prevention. That is why the relationship with the UNRSF is such a natural fit and one that we will continue to support.”
Pirelli officials point to several of its products, including its sensor-equipped Cyber Tire that transmits real-time information to drivers, plus its self-sealing and run-flat tires, as contributors to enhanced motorist safety.
