Percheron/Big Brand Acquires American Tire Depot's Retail Stores

Nov. 22, 2021

Percheron Capital, the parent company of Big Brand Tire & Service, has acquired American Tire Depot's retail stores. Based in Vernon, Calif., American Tire Depot has 107 retail outlets, according to the 2021 MTD 100.

The deal - which is expected to close by the end of 2021 - does not include other American Tire Depot properties or businesses, according to a spokesman for Percheron.

The transaction will give Big Brand 160 tire and automotive service locations.

Percheron recently acquired Integrity Tire, which has locations throughout southern California, as well as nine Purcell Tire & Rubber Co. retail stores in Arizona and six Tire World locations in the Colorado Springs, Colo., area.

American Tire Depot's "decades-long dedication to its loyal customers, talented employees and local communities has made it a leading destination for complete automotive care in California," say Percheron officials.

"This transaction brings together two companies with similar customer-focused values, while infusing significant capital and operational resources to position the combined business for accelerated growth."

Terms of the American Tire Depot deal have not been disclosed.

Chris Lawler, co-founder and managing director of Percheron, says the private equity form is "excited to partner with Big Brand and American Tire Depot to continue building a preeminent tire and automotive service platform.

"Big Brand has a track record of generating industry-leading performance by utilizing the most advanced digital technology platform in the automotive service sector, and has rapidly grown by establishing itself as an employer and acquirer of choice. We’re thrilled to leverage our deep sector expertise and operational capabilities to continue to support the combined company’s significant growth trajectory.”
