Sun Auto Tire Pushes into Pacific Northwest

Oct. 25, 2021

Tucson, Ariz.-based Sun Auto Tire & Service is expanding into the Pacific Northwest thanks to three new acquisitions in Washington.

The company has acquired Greg's Japanese Auto and Jeff's Auto Repair in the Seattle, Wash., market.

Sun Auto Tire also has acquired Gaynors Automotive in Vancouver, Wash., which is in the greater Portland, Ore., market.

In total, the buy-outs give Sun Auto Tire an additional 16 locations, which have a combined 160 service bays.

Earlier this month, Chris Garman, the company's vice president of business development, told MTD that future acquisitions would not be limited to the southwestern United States, which has been Sun Auto Tire's traditional geography.

“We’ll move a little bit north - maybe into the Northwest.”

Last month, Sun Auto Tire also finalized its first-ever East Coast acquisition, buying seven Hogan & Sons locations in Virginia.

“At Sun Auto Tire & Service, one of the many ways we define our success is by creating acquisition opportunities in which we feel we can partner with trusted brands and capitalize on established and successful footprints in multiple markets," says Sun Auto Tire CEO Tony Puckett.

“The strong community relationships Greg’s, Jeff’s and Gaynors have cultivated will further strengthen our growth strategy and help cement Sun Auto Tire & Service as Washington’s leading provider of quality aftermarket automotive repair.”

Sun Auto Tire has more than 230 locations throughout Washington, Virginia, Texas, Arizona, California, Nevada and Oklahoma.
