Yokohama Tire Corp. is launching the Sport EV, its first-ever ultra-high performance all-season tire for electric vehicles (EVs).
The tire will make its official debut at Electrify Expo in Austin, Texas, on Nov. 10.
The Yokohama Sport EV, along with several modified and motorsports EVs, will be in the tiremaker’s booth in the Electrify Showoff Driven by Yokohama section.
It will be offered in 10 sizes, fitting wheels ranging from 18 inches to 20 inches in diameter, and will be available in the United States on Jan. 1, 2024.
“EV drivers want tires that last and that’s one of the many benefits of the Sport EV,” says Andrew Briggs, Yokohama Tire’s VP of marketing and product management.
“It’s long, reliable treadwear is hard to find in most EV-specific tires. Plus the Sport EV offers sharp steering response and powerful braking across a variety of conditions.”
