John McCarthy Jr., president of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., based-McCarthy Tire Service Co. Inc., has been named Man of the Year by The Greater-Wilkes Barre Friendly Sons of St. Patrick group.
McCarthy – who was also MTD’s Tire Dealer of the Year in 2019 – will be presented with the award at the group’s 78th annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner on March 15th in Mohegan, Pa.
McCarthy Tire Service ranks 17th on the 2023 MTD 100 list and has nearly 75 locations.
The Friendly Sons celebrate Irish heritage and honor those who have played crucial roles in both the service and the betterment of northeast Pennsylvania.
McCarthy is also an “integral part of the community” according to the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick group. He currently serves on multiple different boards throughout the community.
He also serves on MTD’s reader advisory board.
