Sailun Breaks Ground on Mexico Factory

May 16, 2024

The Sailun Group has announced the groundbreaking of its new factory in Guanajuato, Mexico, which is expected to boost production by six million tires per year.

The factory is a $240 million investment for the company and future plans include potentially raising the capacity of the factory by an additional 1.8 million radial tires annually.

The new factory is strategically located to enhance the company's production capabilities and better serve the North American customer base, according to Sailun officials.

“We are thrilled to embark on this exciting journey as we break ground on our new factory in Mexico,” says Peter Koszo, president of Sailun Group of Companies North America.

“This expansion represents a significant investment in our future and reaffirms our commitment to providing top quality tires for the North American market and allows us to continue to diversify our product offerings.”

Sailun officials say the groundbreaking of the new factory in Mexico represents a major stride toward Chairman Yuan's vision of localization, aiming to enhance the customer experience by ensuring stability within the supply chain.
