Maserati has chosen Bridgestone Americas Inc. to develop bespoke 20-inch tires for its first all-electric SUV, the Maserati Grecale Folgore.
Bridgestone created custom-developed Bridgestone Potenza Sport Enliten tires, its ultra-high performance tire, for the new Maserati vehicle.
The Potenza Sport Enliten tire provides performance in dry and wet conditions and has been custom-engineered to keep Maserati Grecale Folgore drivers in control with better handling. The tire also delivers low rolling resistance.
Bridgestone’s proprietary Virtual Tire Development technologies were combined with Maserati’s driving simulator to test the tire in a digital environment. This reduced physical prototyping and testing, cutting raw material consumption and carbon emissions, according to officials.
“The Grecale Folgore is a historic launch for Maserati on its pioneering electrification journey, and we’re very proud to help bring its performance to life with Bridgestone tires,” says Steven De Bock, vice president of original equipment at Bridgestone.
