VIP Tires & Service Now Has 75 Stores

Feb. 7, 2025

Auburn, Maine-based VIP Tires & Service has expanded its footprint to 75 locations with the acquisition of Tires International in Manchester, Conn.

The 10,366-square-foot, 16-bay outlet has been in operation for more than 26 years and all of its employees have been retained by VIP Tires & Service. This includes former owner Dale Carney, who is staying on as a VIP Tires & Service general manager.

“As we continue our expansion into Connecticut, John Quirk, VIP’s owner, and myself have had our eyes on Dale's operation," says Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP Tires & Service.

"Dale has built a solid reputation for the place to go to get high-quality tires and automotive repair. Dale has supported this community both professionally and personally for decades and gives back to Manchester in many ways.

"This is one of the largest and busiest tire and service shops we’ve seen across New England. Dale's team is filled with skilled automotive technicians and highly motivated customer service professionals who are ready to take advantage of all that VIP has to offer. We can't wait to bring the VIP experience to the Manchester community."

VIP Tires & Service also purchased the property as part of the acquisition, consisting of nearly two acres and over 50 parking spaces with close proximity to the off ramp of Interstate 84. Tires International is a certified State of Connecticut Emissions Testing Facility.

VIP Tires & Service is one of the largest independent tire dealerships in the United States, according to the 2024 MTD 100.
