Mitchem Tire Co. has expanded into Nixa, Mo., with its fifth location.
The newest location has seven service bays and will offer services offered at all Mitchem Tire locations – tires, wheels, wheel alignments, oil changes and more.
“Nixa is located about 10 minutes south of our South Campbell location and about 10 minutes west of our Ozark location, but is a very close-knit community,” says Steve Kruse, co-owner of the Springfield, Mo.-based Mitchem Tire.
“I moved there about seven years ago and had always wanted a location because we have always drawn customers from Nixa to our other locations, but knew we weren't completely capitalizing on the market there. We will cannibalize some of the business from Nixa from the other locations, but the upside is that we are gaining a vast amount of the city's population that wants to shop ‘local’, who do not want to go or have the time in their busy schedules to drive to Ozark or Springfield.”
Kruse says he and his brother, Cory, co-owner of Mitchem Tire, are always looking for new opportunities in different markets.
“We like to talk with other independents that are nearing retirement or are wanting to go a different route in their lives who also don’t want to see their years of hard work and loyal customers being turned over to a corporate ran company, but will also get the best deal for both them and us,” says Kruse.
“We still have the appeal of being a small family-owned and operated company who hold ourselves to the same values that have driven us for over 86 years now, so I believe the Mitchem Tire brand will continue to move forward at a smooth and calculated pace.”
