Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) has appointed Oliver Winschiers managing director of its Continental Tire Canada division. Winschiers will be based in Mississauga, Ontario.
Winschiers' appointment is effective July 15, and he will report directly to CTNA CEO Matthias Schoenberg. He will be responsible "for the profitable growth and overall operation of the division," according to the company.
Winschiers was previously director of corporate purchasing for Continental's Automotive and Rubber Groups in The Americas, based in Auburn Hills, Mich. He also was responsible for the direct material purchasing for CTNA, which included the overall operation of the Aldora Mills cord fabric plant in Barnesville, Ga.
He came to Continental from Siemens VDO. In October 1997, Winschiers joined Siemens AG in Stuttgart, Germany, as a regional sales manager for document management systems. He then moved to the purchasing department within Siemens VDO's automotive business.
Jay Dhillon, who is acting managing director in Canada, will help with the transition before returning to the United States to continue managing the automotive aftermarket and general merchandise businesses of CTNA.
