The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has opened nominations for the Tire Industry Hall of Fame.
According to TIA officials, the Hall of Fame recognizes the “outstanding accomplishments of individuals who have contributed greatly to the growth and/or development of the tire industry or have demonstrated high standards, ideals and leadership in the management of their businesses in the tire community.”
The award is open to all individuals in the tire industry: manufacturers, inventors, publishers, equipment suppliers, tire association executives, tire dealers, tire and rubber recyclers and retreaders. Hall of Fame membership may be awarded posthumously.
TIA officials say inductees are chosen by judges based on the following criteria:
- Contribution of new ideas promoting the well-being of the tire industry;
- Service that is exemplary within the tire industry;
- Respect of their peers and a positive role model;
- Distinguished and inspiring leadership within their organization/company, and;
- Achievements that are exceptional and have positively impacted the tire industry.
“Candidates’ civic, cultural, educational or charitable endeavors will be considered, but are not a primary consideration as attributes for selection,” say TIA officials.
“The tire industry has been built by innovators and leaders who recognized the need for a product or service,” says Dick Gust, TIA CEO.
“TIA created the Hall of Fame to recognize these historical contributions and celebrate the people who have shaped the tire industry. We look forward to honoring the next inductees who will become a permanent part of the association’s history.”
Honorees will be announced in the fall and recognized during TIA’s events preceding the Global Tire Expo/Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, which will take place Nov. 4-7, 2025.
