Michelin North America Inc. (MNA) says its Michelin Energy Saver A/S passenger tire is now available.
The tire comes in four sizes that target "popular mainstream and hybrid vehicles," according to MNA officials, including P215/60R16, P195/65R15, P195/60R15 and P185/65R15.
The Energy Saver A/S is designed "for exceptional levels of fuel efficiency." It contains Michelin Energy Saver Construction technology -- which is designed to keep the tire cooler, thus improving its fuel efficiency -- as well as a silica-based rubber compound for all-season traction.
The tire also bears Michelin's "Green X" symbol on its sidewall, "a visual signal to consumers that the tire has a level of increased fuel efficiency."
MNA will promote the tire via its first Facebook application, Michelin Life Balance, which allows the tiremaker "to digitally interact with consumers by providing them (with) an opportunity to express who they are," says Jennifer Smith, digital communications manager, MNA.
“As part of the application, Michelin is offering a $5 Starbucks gift card to 50 lucky winners each day who complete their ‘Michelin Life Balance’ from now through July 4."
