Nexen Tire America Inc. honored K&W Tire Co. Inc. in a big way recently. For its 60th anniversary, Nexen presented founder Richard "R.J." Kline with a specially carved tire.
The anniversary party was held on Aug. 20 at Clipper Magazine Stadium, home of the Lancaster (Pa.) Barnstormers minor league baseball team. The Barnstormers are the AA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.
More than 400 customers, employees, and family members were in attendance. R.J. Kline was joined by his wife, Lucile, CEO Dick Kline and President Ken Kline.
"To show our appreciation to the Kline family for their hard work and dedication in helping build the Nexen brand, we wanted to thank them in a special way that will always be remembered," said Chris Tolbert, Nexen's regional director. The hand-carved Nexen tire was designed by Bill Allison, tire styling manager at the Nexen Tire America Technology Center in Richfield, Ohio.
K&W Tire has nine distribution and retail locations in four states: Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia and Massachusetts.
