Here’s a by-the-numbers look at publicly announced tire dealership acquisitions during 2023.
Five biggest United States-based tire dealership acquisitions, based on store count, and when they happened:
1. Mavis Tire Express Services Corp.’s acquisition of 595 NTB Tire and Service Centers and Tire Kingdom Service Centers from TBC Corp. (second quarter)
2. Discount Tire’s acquisition of Dunn Tire Corp.’s 25 retail stores in New York and Pennsylvania (third quarter)
3. Pomp’s Tire Service Inc.’s acquisition of Royal Tire Inc., a 20-location dealership with outlets in Minnesota and North Dakota (second quarter)
4. Belle Tire Distributors Ltd.’s acquisition of 18 Tireman Auto Service Centers in Ohio and Michigan (first quarter)
5. Sun Auto Tire & Service Inc.’s acquisition of Tire Outlet, a 14-store chain in Jacksonville, Fla. (first quarter)

1. Southern Tire Mart’s acquisition of Friend Tire from Yokohama Tire Corp., which included nine distribution centers throughout the U.S. (second quarter)
2. Turbo Wholesale Tires’ acquisition of Tire Wholesalers Inc., which had five warehouses in Michigan Illinois and Utah (second quarter)
3. U.S. AutoForce LLC’s acquisition of Pacific Tire Distributors, which had four distribution centers in Oregon and Washington (third quarter)
Three biggest U.S.-based acquisitions of commercial tire dealerships, based on number of outlets:
1. Pomp’s Tire Service Inc.’s acquisition of Royal Tire Inc., a 20-location dealership with outlets in Minnesota and North Dakota (second quarter)
2. Service Tire Truck Centers Inc.’s acquisition of Giant Tire Service, which had eight outlets throughout New Jersey (fourth quarter)
3. Bob Sumerel Tire Co. Inc.’s acquisition of Flynn’s Tire Group’s commercial division, which consisted of three outlets and a retread plant in Ohio and Pennsylvania (fourth quarter)
